Remembrance

I hope you’re having a nice holiday weekend!

I wanted to commemorate Memorial Day in a personal way so I suggested that Len and I take a stroll through our local cemetery and visit the veterans buried there.

This was a moving experience.

We read the headstones that had little American flags; there were so many!  We tried to figure out which war a veteran may have fought in by the engraved birthdate.

In the older section we found birthdates going back as far as the 1840’s!

As we drove away I felt humble and proud.
